Dual training / training structure
Vocational nursing training according to the Nursing Professions Act (Pflegeberufegesetz) consists of theoretical and practical instruction at nursing schools and practical training at a training institution (so-called provider of practical training) and other institutions from the different nursing fields. Lessons and practical training alternate.
The majority of the practical training takes place in the training company with which the trainee has concluded the training contract. Within the framework of the practical training, assignments take place in all areas of care, i.e. in the hospital, in care facilities, in outpatient care services as well as in psychiatric care and in the care of children and adolescents.
Duration of the training
Training under the Nursing Professions Act lasts three years as full-time training. If it is carried out as part-time training, it can last up to five years.
