Kitchen specialist
Die 2-jährige Ausbildung zur Fachkraft Küche
This apprenticeship is aimed at all those who want to learn professional cooking from the ground up in a practical way, but want to deal less with theory and numbers. Kitchen specialists know their way around the kitchen basics: They learn how to process and prepare all kinds of food. They know how to prepare simple dishes and meals of meat, fish and vegetables. They can arrange and garnish salads and desserts and make simple soups and sauces.
To do this, they learn different working and cutting techniques and cooking methods as well as how to handle recipes and kitchen equipment. They can also receive and store goods and are familiar with hygiene.
People who like to work in a team and with their hands are particularly suitable for the kitchen. Daily life is characterised by handling and processing food. Manual dexterity, care and a good sense of taste help. Time pressure is common in the kitchen, so it helps if you can handle stress well and are fit.
Training as a kitchen specialist takes two years as planned. No specific school-leaving qualification is required. With the necessary motivation and commitment, training as a kitchen specialist can also be mastered by junior staff.
